8Ball & MJG ft. Twista - In The Middle of The Night (Remix)

This song right here is something you throw on when you're about to head out for a night on the town. Ball & G hooked up with Twista for the remix to this 1997 song that appeared on MJG's solo album No More Glory. The remix appeared on the U-N-I vs All, Universal Records compilation that featured artists like Rakim, The Lost Boyz, and Canibus.

If you haven't noticed, the recent posts have been following a theme of chill and laid back songs. In a few days I'm dropping a mix of songs with a spring/summer vibe that you can ride around in your car to. It's called Music To Ride To, be on the look out for that....

this is a classic track....southern hip-hop at its best..up north rappers cont make music like this...all hail down south hip hop!!!

An Introduction

Welcome to my blog. I feel like hip-hop is the most diverse genre of music. Before you click that red "X" in the top right corner and write me off as a backpacker with the straps too tight just hear me out. Over the past 5 or 6 years I've delved deeper into the music. I've looked past the materialism, misogyny, and violence that permeate through many of the lyrics and I have just appreciated the art. I've listened to the beats and the background of these songs to find out how they were composed. Many hip-hop songs contain samples. These samples come from a number of genres (jazz, rock, blues, metal, etc.). Can you tell me any other genre music that pays homage to earlier forms of music like hip-hop does? I've discovered many artists in the aforementioned genres because of hip-hop. Enough of the sentimental stuff. This blog is.......a Product of My Opinion.
